On 18 April, the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs held a subcommittee hearing on the status of Libya that featured statements from a series of Libyan experts.

This month Senegal decided to deport to their country of origin two former Guantánamo prison detainees from Libya, Salem Abdul Salem Ghereby and Awad Khalifa. The two were sent to Senegal two years ago as the Obama administration reduced the Guantánamo detainee population.
