The US State Department said that on 24 November, a delegation of senior US officials met with Libyan National Army (LNA) leader Khalifa Haftar at an undisclosed location to discuss steps to achieve a suspension of hostilities and a political resolution to the Libyan conflict. The officials underscored the US’s full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya and expressed serious concern over ‘Russia’s exploitation of the conflict at the expense of the Libyan people.’

On 23 November, LNA spokesperson Ahmed al-Mismari announced a ‘No Fly Zone’ (NFZ) over most of the greater Tripoli airspace. In response, the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) Deputy Minister of Transportation, Hisham Bushekiwat assured the public that flights are running normally to and from Misrata airport, while Mitiga airport in Tripoli will be resuming operations within two weeks.

There have been several meetings over the last week of LNA or LNA affiliated-personnel with decision makers and communities in the west Libyan towns of Surman, al-Ajilat, Sabratha and Zawiyya.
