Non-State actors in Benghazi continue to battle with LNA forces in Benghazi, although they have now been pushed and cornered to a limited are of twenty five squared km of land in Guwarsha and Ganfuda, according to the LNA spokesperson on 3 May. Ansar Al Sharia and Benghazi Revolutionary Shura Council (BRSC) media arms continue to publish image galleries of their heavy artillery resistance against the assault, but clearly the LNA noose is tightening on the militants. Ansar Al Sharia released a new vide eulogising their dead emir who led the battle against Haftar’s LNA in 2014, Mohammed Al Zahawai.
Sources report that the militia which attacked the LNA forces in Zillah on 3 May led by Ziyad Balaam had in its ranks militants of the (Ajdabiya Liberation and Benghazi Revolutionary Support Room ) which was formed in March 2016 after the dissolution of the Ajdabiya Revolutionary Shura Council (ARSC). This development could indicate a new reorganisation by non-state actors under the GNA fold.
