On 13 April, the Government of National Accord (GNA) Ministry of Interior released a statement saying the Special Deterrence Force (Rada) arrested ISIS member Anas Abrik Zouki (aka Abu Abdullah al-Darnawi). Al-Darnawi has been accused of preparing terrorist attacks in Tripoli. Al-Darnawi was in Benghazi from 2015 to January 2017. He then left the city spending time in the Umm al-Aranib, Sebha and subsequently in Tripoli.

On 11 April, ISIS released a statement claiming to have killed six Libyan National Army (LNA) fighters in Ghadduwa, in south-western Libya. The statement indicated that the attack was part of a broader campaign aimed at taking “revenge for al-Sham.” On 11 April, ISIS released its Naba newsletter no. 177, which included details on the group’s recent attacks on Fuqaha and Ghadduwa.
