On 31 December, the Libyan National Army’s (LNA) military information division claimed a fighter attempted to undertake a failed suicide attack wearing an “explosive belt” targeting the Tariq bin Ziyad Battalion stationed in Abu Salim, in southern Tripoli. Photos of the incident on social media showed a figure cloaked in an ISIS flag.
