IS is continuing to make small but highly significant gains in central Libya. Having taken the town of Suwawa last week, this week saw it capture Wushka.
There was no overt western response to jihadi threats in Libya this week.
There was further fierce fighting in Benghazi this week as the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shura Council continued its push to expand its area of control. The Derna Mujahideen Shura Council is an entrenched as ever, and is feeling even more sure itself having all but driven IS out of the town.
The Misrata military and local councils called on all brigades to make themselves ready for action while Brigade 166, which withdrew from Sirte a few weeks ago, and is now based in Abu Ghrayn has been placed on high alert.
