Although ISIS was not directly involved in Libya, its jihadi precursors were attempting evermore audacious attacks and changing the culture of the civil war. The use of suicide bombings has raised the spectre of further such attacks being carried out not only in Benghazi but elsewhere in Libya.

The UNSMIL sponsored peace talks went ahead in Ghadames on 29 September and surprisingly heralded an agreement of sorts. Operation Libya Dawn made clear its objections to the talks right from the start calling on those boycotters of the House to suspend their participation in the dialogue.

Other – 5 October 2014

A string of suicide bombs in Benghazi struck a major blow to the forces of General Khalifa Haftar and his Operation Dignity campaign this week. The use of suicide attacks marks a shift in tactics by the Benghazi Revolutionaries Shura Council and suggests that other copycat operations could be on the way.
