On 9 April, the Mujahedeen Shura Council of Derna (MSCD) thwarted an attempted ISIS assault in Al Fatieh area. The area had been previously rigged with explosives to ward of a potential ISIS incursion. Meanwhile, on 10 April, MSCD said it had arrested two ISIS fighters allegedly responsible for placing IEDs under vehicles in Derna.
